For women seeking breast reconstruction after mastectomy or previous unsuccessful reconstruction, Dr. Eric Halvorson specializes in delayed implant reconstruction and revision of prior breast reconstructions. With over 15 years of expertise in complex breast procedures, Dr. Halvorson is dedicated to restoring natural breast aesthetics and improving patient outcomes.

What Is Delayed Implant Reconstruction?

Unlike immediate reconstruction, delayed implant reconstruction is performed after a mastectomy or cancer treatment is complete. This approach allows the body to heal fully before placing an implant, leading to better long-term results and reduced complications.

Benefits of Delayed Implant Reconstruction:

  • Lower risk of complications compared to immediate reconstruction
  • Better aesthetic results with more precise shaping and symmetry
  • Greater flexibility in surgical planning after healing from mastectomy

Breast Reconstruction Revision: Correcting & Enhancing Prior Results

Many women seek revision surgery after experiencing dissatisfaction with previous breast reconstruction. Common concerns include implant malposition, asymmetry, capsular contracture, and aesthetic dissatisfaction. Dr. Halvorson uses advanced surgical techniques to refine and improve both the appearance and comfort of reconstructed breasts.

Who Is a Candidate for Breast Reconstruction or Revision?

Dr. Halvorson offers personalized reconstruction plans for women who:

  • Have completed cancer treatment and are ready for delayed reconstruction
  • Have previous reconstruction results that need improvement
  • Experience complications such as capsular contracture or implant failure
  • Want to refine the symmetry and appearance of prior breast surgery
